The Anchor Holds the Weight

You have handled the emergencies that would break a novice. The competence is real. The skill is not a lie. But the skill is not the source. It is the vessel. The vessel is necessary, but it does not create the water it carries. The hands are strong, but the hands do not generate the power that lifts the wings. The grip on the yoke is steady, but the grip does not own the air. The air is the gift. The air is the supply. The air is the anointing. His word says this is the case, and the Holy Spirit confirms it within the quiet of the cockpit.

His word says, not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts. The Holy Spirit is not the absence of skill. The Holy Spirit is the presence of the source. When the Spirit moves, the skill becomes effective for the assignment. The Spirit does not replace the hands. The Spirit empowers the hands. The same Spirit that filled the craftsman with wisdom and understanding fills the pilot with guidance. The skill is the tool. The Spirit is the hand that guides the tool. The two are not enemies. The two are partners. The skill without the Spirit is efficient but empty. The Spirit without the skill is powerful but unchanneled.

The anointing rests on this work. The Holy Spirit is upon the task. It is already settled. The anointing is not a sign of weakness. It is the engine that makes the skill fly. The oil does not make the engine weaker. The oil makes the engine run. The skill is the engine. The anointing is the oil. The two work together. The skill is the vessel. The anointing is the oil. The fear is that admitting the need for the Spirit means losing the grip. But the grip is not the source. The grip is the response. The source is the Owner of the sky. The Owner of the sky does not compete with the pilot. The Owner of the sky enables the pilot. The Owner of the sky is the one who made the air. The Owner of the sky is the one who made the wings. The Owner of the sky is the one who made the pilot. The pilot is the vessel. The Owner is the source. The vessel is honored by the source. The source is honored by the vessel. The two are one in the work.

You have been carrying this for years. The years have built the skill. The years have built the confidence. The years have built the fear. The fear is not a sign of weakness. The fear is a sign of depth. The depth is where the anointing lives. The anointing is not a crutch. The anointing is the connection. The connection is the link between the skill and the source. The link is strong. The link is real. The link is the Spirit. His word says in Isaiah 61:1 that the Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, and that very presence sustains the carrying long after the initial shock of the task has faded.

His word says, I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom and understanding and knowledge and in all manner of workmanship. The Holy Spirit is the wisdom. The Holy Spirit is the understanding. The Holy Spirit is the knowledge. The Holy Spirit is the workmanship. The skill is the work. The Spirit is the wisdom that guides the work. The two are not separate. The two are integrated. The skill is the hand. The Spirit is the mind. The hand does the work. The mind guides the hand. The two are one in the execution.

The ordination for this assignment is complete. The Holy Spirit sealed the bond. It is already settled. The assignment is not a burden. The assignment is a privilege. The privilege is to carry the oil. The oil is the anointing. The anointing is the presence of God. The presence of God is the power that makes the skill effective. The skill is the tool. The presence is the force. The force moves the tool. The tool does the work. The work is the assignment. The assignment is the purpose. The purpose is the glory, as He has promised that the one who establishes and anoints is God, and the same Spirit is the seal upon the bond.
