You were ordained before you formed the first sentence of your complaint. Scripture puts it plainly: before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and I ordained you. This is not a future promise. It is a present reality. The Holy Spirit did not wait for you to secure a permanent post to anoint you. The anointing is not a rank that arrives when the title does. It is the presence of God in the specific task you are holding right now. The same Spirit that set you apart is active in the temporary. He is not waiting for the next chapter to start. He is already working in this one.

The gap between being set apart and being sent is not a cancellation. It is a season where the work is already happening in the small, unseen moments. Many believers mistake the delay for a denial. They think if God has not placed them in a permanent position, He has not placed them in purpose. That is a lie the enemy tells to keep you looking at the horizon instead of the ground. Scripture puts it plainly that the ground is where the oil is. The ground is where the feet are. The ground is where the work is real. You do not need a bigger room to be anointed. You need to see the room you are in, where the Holy Spirit is at work.

You have an anointing from the Holy One that abides in you. 1 John 2:27 says the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you. This is not a conditional gift that expires when the contract ends. It is a permanent seal. The Holy Spirit has not left the classroom because the teacher is temporary. He is there because the work is His. The anointing is not a ticket to a permanent title. It is the presence of God in the specific, temporary task in front of you. It is the oil on the head of the one who is standing in the gap.

The sense of purpose you felt at twenty-five was not a lie. It was a glimpse of the reality that has been sustaining you all along. The feeling did not vanish because it was false. It faded because you stopped looking for it in the feeling and started looking for it in the title. The title is external. The anointing is internal. The title changes. The anointing abides. You do not need to prove your worth by holding a position. You do not need to validate your calling by having a permanent post. The Holy Spirit is sufficient in the temporary. He is the one who equips the one He sends. You are not sending yourself. You are not trying to earn a place. You are standing in the place where God has placed you, and He is with you there. His presence is the anointing. His presence is the proof.

The small place you are already in is not training for something more important later. It is the assignment. The anointing is not a rank to be climbed. It is a presence to be recognized. When you stop looking for the next step, you begin to see the current one. The current one is holy. The current one is enough. The current one is where the oil is. He has promised that the Holy Spirit is not waiting for a bigger stage. He is working in the quiet. He is working in the gap. He is working in you.

1 Peter 2:9 calls this people a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a chosen generation. That identity stands apart from any job title. It does not depend on employment status. It is a fact of who is in Christ. The Holy Spirit has sealed the work. He has marked the ground. He has set the space apart. The anointing is not for the person who has it all figured out. It is for the person standing in the unknown, trusting that God is present. That is the anointing.

The work is not done when the room is filled. The work is done when the room is prepared. The work is done when the lesson is ready. The work is done when the heart is open. The role is not a placeholder. The role is a stewardship. The time is not temporary. The time is present. The Holy Spirit is not passing through. He is dwelling. The anointing is not a gift that will be upgraded. It is a gift that is fully here. It is enough. It is complete. It belongs to the work.

Do not say I am a child. Do not say I am a substitute. Do not say I am not enough. God has spoken. The word is settled. The anointing is real. The work is holy. The Holy Spirit is with the one in the gap. He is with the one in the silence. He is with the one in the waiting. He is the one who equips the one He sends. The one in the room is the one He has sent. This room is the assignment. This moment is the anointing. The oil is in the waiting.
